A group of Manitoba students will be among the first in Canada to design experiments for the International Space Station.

Students at Woodlands Elementary School have been chosen to propose and design experiments to be conducted on the Space Station in 2013. The experiments are part of the school’s invitation into the Student Spaceflight Experiments Program (SSEP), and is a first for a Canadian school division. About 450 Grade 5 and 6 students will participate.

A kick off event for the program is scheduled for Monday morning at Woodlands Elementary School, located about one hour northwest of Winnipeg.
