Bisons Meet Rams in Prairie Rivalry on Friday

September 27, 2012 9:19 AM | Sports

A longstanding rivalry will be reignited on Friday as the Manitoba Bisons football team moves into enemy territory out west.

The Bisons (3-1) travel to Regina to face the Rams — also sitting at 3-1 this season — for a second place showdown. Both teams are virtually matched, with Manitoba sitting a spot behind the Rams at #8 in the Canada West rankings.

The two teams previously met in pre-season action, where the Bisons bested the Rams 29-13 at Mosaic Stadium.

Running back Nic Demski will be the Bisons’ star returning to Mosaic, as the Oak Park High School recruit continues to impress head coach Brian Dobie.

“Right now I really do believe that there’s no player — certainly at the halfway point in the season — that is more valuable in our conference to their team, than Nic Demski is to our team. He’s been that big for us so far this year,” Dobie said this week.

Kickoff is 8 p.m. CT and available on UMFM 101.5 or live webcast on CanadaWest.tv.
