A Manitoba soldier has been charged with bestiality after a roughly three-week investigation by RCMP and Canadian Forces Military Police.

Police received a complaint on September 10 about a man soliciting a woman through a dating website to participate in acts of bestiality. A search warrant was executed on the soldier’s home near Brandon on September 28, where police seized computers.

The 31-year-old has been identified as a member of the Canadian Forces Base Shilo. His name isn’t being released to protect the victim and members of his family.

The man has been charged with bestiality, procuring, and circulating obscene matter. He was released and will appear in court at a later date.
