A group of seven Winnipeg artists will begin to create a large canvas today in cityplace mall in support of World Vision.
While simultaneously painting a picture of four-year-old Ercilla, a child from Mozambique who is the face of World Vision’s new campaign, the event will kick off “Just 1 Child.”
The campaign, running October 1 to December 1, is being launched by Councillor Brian Mayes, and will bring awareness to Winnipeg residents that sponsoring just one child is all it takes to make lasting change in the life of a child. World Vision hopes to find sponsors for 1,000 children during the campaign.
The launch will run from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the mall’s centre court.
