The CEO and film commissioner of Manitoba Film and Music has been named a recipient of the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee Medal.

Carole Vivier will receive the medal at a ceremony in Ottawa as given out by Governor General David Johnston. Recipients are chosen for their outstanding contributions to their community and the country.

Vivier has been with Manitoba Film and Music for 22 years and has heralded the development of both industries into international success stories.

“We are thrilled that Carole is receiving the recognition and accolades she so greatly deserves,” said Manitoba Film and Music board chair Alana Langelotz. “The board has witnessed firsthand Carole’s many years of unwavering commitment to the music and film industries throughout the Province. The success of these industries is due in large part to Carole’s leadership and vision.”
