The City of Winnipeg is reminding residents with Monday as their recycling and garbage collection day to roll out their automated carts as normal.

Despite the Thanksgiving Day holiday, crews will be out to make regular collection rounds. Yard waste will also be picked up.

The new recycling and garbage collection program rolled out city-wide on October 1. Some areas of the city may see their collection delayed as crews work to catch up and get used to the new equipment. The city recommends carts be left out as trucks get back on schedule.

There will be collection on all but three statutory holidays — Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s Day. If these holidays fall on a weekday, residents may have collection one day later for that week only.
