Winnipeg Harvest will auction off 42 celebrity and local artisan bowls that have been signed and decorated on Tuesday.
The annual Empty Bowls Celebrity Auction will be held at the Delta Winnipeg beginning at 5:30 p.m. The event raises awareness and funds for Winnipeg Harvest and was responsible for bringing in $305,000 during last year’s Empty Bowls Gala.
Bowls this year include items from Donald Trump, actress Meryl Streep, ‘The Hotline’ hockey legends — Bobby Hull, Ulf Nilsson and Anders Hedberg, Winnipeg Olympian Desiree Scott, musical icon Tony Bennett, and former Prime Ministers John Turner, Kim Campbell, Jean Chretien, and Paul Martin.
The evening features a simple meal of fine soups and breads, as well as silent and live auctions of the celebrity and artisan bowls.
A few tickets remain on sale for $250 each.
