A week-long film festival to celebrate the gay, lesbian, bisexual, transsexual, transgender, two-spirit and queer communities begins tonight at the Gas Station Theatre.

Reel Pride will begin with “Beyond the Celluloid,” a visual and auditory gathering of some of the best artists in Winnipeg and beyond. The free event is open to the public and will be one of several events planned for the week. Showtime is 8 p.m.

The festival continues in its film format for the rest of the week, wrapping up on Sunday, October 14.

Tickets are $8 per show, $7 for students or $24 for 4 seats. A complete show schedule is available at ReelPride.org.
