A new production on Winnipeg gang violence will tour the city in the coming weeks.

“Diss” is an adaptation by acclaimed playwright Rex Deverell and is being put on by Sarasvàti Productions.

The play tells the story of newcomer siblings in a big Canadian city. As they search for belonging and a sense of status they find themselves enticed into the world of gang and gun violence.

Diss will premiere at the Manitoba Student Leadership Conference in Shilo on October 12 and will then be on tour from October 15-December 14, 2012. An evening show of the production will be performed at the Millennium Library (Carol Shields Auditorium) on Wednesday, November 7 at 6:30p.m. Admission is free, but donations will be accepted at the door.
