October 15, 2012 8:39 AM | News

Former Winnipeg Blue Bombers cornerback Willie Amos will show local children his jump rope skills this week.

Amos is the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s honourary JUMP coach for a fifth year in a row. JUMP is a pledge-based fundraising program that teaches kids the importance of physical activity for a healthy heart.

Approximately 200 Manitoba schools participate in the program, raising an average of over $630,000 a year to fight heart disease and stroke.

Amos will begin his tour at Beaverlodge School and Beaumont School today, followed by Machray School and the 2012 SAGE Conference on Wednesday and Friday, respectively.
