Three Winnipeg police officers are in the running for the inaugural Winnipeg’s Top Cop award.

The Kiwanis Club of Winnipeg will crown the winner during an awards gala at the Fairmont Winnipeg on November 9. Cst. Shaun Chornley, Cst. Kevin Gibson and Sgt. Geordie MacKenzie have been shortlisted for the award.

More than 200 seats have been sold for the gala dinner and awards celebration. The event is planned to draw a guest list including local celebrities, politicians, members of the law enforcement community, corporate donors and others. Tickets are available online.

Proceeds from the event will directly benefit local children’s charities, including the Boys and Girls Clubs of Winnipeg.
