Art City Throwing ‘Monster Movie Mash’

Art City is preparing for a high-concept interactive live movie making experience to celebrate Halloween this year.

The annual Art City Monster Movie Mash on Friday, October 26 will include homemade costumes, props and sets that Art City participants having been making all month long. Guests can grab their items and then film spooky impromptu sketches and scenes.

The finished products will be filmed and digitally sent to an on-site editing booth, where they will be projected in an adjacent movie theatre moments later.

Guest artists Cathy Gordon and Ulysses Castelanos from Toronto will also be lending a hand.

Anyone wanting to take part is asked to show up at the Broadway Neighbourhood Resource Centre, 185 Young Street, at 5 p.m. on Friday. The event is free and open to everyone.

A Halloween-themed dance party will follow at 8 p.m.
