November is just over a week a way, but more importantly, that’s when Movember will begin.

The month-long facial hair-growing initiative raises funds and awareness to fight a number of cancers affecting men.

On Sunday, two local hockey heroes lent their support to the cause by signing autographs on the first day of registration.

Three-time Olympic gold medallist Jennifer Botterill and three-time Stanley Cup champion Mike Keane were at Source for Sports on Pembina Highway yesterday afternoon. The pair met with fans and used their celebrity to draw up support for the event.

Anyone interested in participating can visit the Movember Winnipeg Facebook page for further details.
