October 24, 2012 7:22 AM | News

Tim Hortons customers will soon have a faster and more convenient way of paying for their beverages and snacks.

The company is quickly rolling out Interac Flash, an enhancement of Interac Debit, to more than 2,300 restaurants by the end of October.

Customers will be able to hold their Interac Flash-enabled debit cards in front of a reader in the drive-thru and inside the restaurant.

Tim Hortons is the first and largest national restaurant to accept the new debit technology, which will be handled on the back end by Chase Paymentech.

Interac Flash will be available at 3,000 of the company’s restaurants by the end of the year.
