A Canada Gairdner Award winner will share his discoveries during a lecture today at the University of Manitoba.
Dr. Howard Cedar is one of two scientists from the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, Israel, that have demonstrated how adding a simple chemical group (called a methyl group) to DNA affects how and when genetic information is used.
Cedar is a professor of molecular biology and will speak on “Programming of DNA Methylation” on the U of M’s downtown campus.
The talk will run from noon to 1 p.m. in the Frederic Gaspard Theatre of the Basic Medical Sciences Centre.
