The University of Manitoba Bison women’s soccer team has a lot on the line going into the Canada West quarter-finals on Friday.
The Herd (4-7-1) clinched a playoff spot for the first time since 2008 last weekend and will travel to Trinity Western University (Langley, B.C.) in two days to prove their worth.
The No. 3-ranked Trinity Western Spartans (11-1-0) are the number one seed and sit second in conference shots/scoring to Manitoba’s sixth.
Bisons’ Alison Kastner finished the regular season as the top scorer on the team with seven points (four goals, three assists) and was fifth in Canada with 48 shots.
It’s the second time this season both teams have met. On September 22, Manitoba dropped a game 4-0 to the Spartans at home.
Friday’s game will begin at 7 p.m. CT. and air live at CanadaWest.TV.
The winner of the quarter-final will advance to the semi-finals on November 3.
