City Partners with Shaw to Offer WiFi at Civic Facilities

Winnipeg has extended its business relationship with Shaw Communications to provide free WiFi in civic facilities.

“It’s vital the City of Winnipeg provide its residents with the very latest in communications tools,” said Mayor Sam Katz. “I know that busy families are going to appreciate WiFi access in arenas and community centres.”

Access will be granted to existing Shaw customers, similar to the company’s nationwide Exo hotspots.

The deal still needs city council approval.

In May, the city and Shaw announced a partnership deal for the telecommunications company to provide service to the city’s internal network.
