Brandon’s Assiniboine Community College has withdrawn its men’s and women’s basketball teams for the rest of the 2012 season.
The college pulled its teams from the Manitoba Colleges Athletic Conference (MCAC) due to a lack of student-athletes.
“Not having the students to put teams on the court this year is disappointing,” said ACC athletic director and MCAC president Larry Shannon. “Although we won’t be in competition this year, we look forward to future successful seasons for our men’s and women’s basketball teams.”
At the time of withdrawal, the ACC Cougars had not yet started their basketball seasons. All future games involving the Cougars will be wiped from the MCAC schedule.
