A co-workspace in Winnipeg’s Exchange District will act as a hub for like-minded professionals in the city’s new media sector.
New Media Manitoba (NMM) announced three of its top priorities on Thursday, which also include launching a mentorship program and a sales portal to provide freelancers and companies the advantage to bid on larger contracts.
The local non-profit association also shared the results of a survey of over 420 industry professionals. A summary of the results was unveiled at web development studio Visual Lizard.
“Manitoba’s new media industry is at a critical stage,” said Kevin Hnatiuk, NMM’s executive director.
“NMM, post-secondary institutions, the business community and local government partners recognize the importance of this dynamic sector and are positioning their activities so that we can develop a prosperous digital media niche.”
