RCMP are advising caution if motorists are travelling in western Manitoba today.
Police say roads are particularly slippery between Brandon and Virden. The area received several centimetres of snow on Friday, making for a tricky commute within the city of Brandon and in nearby municipalities.
RCMP have responded to several single-vehicle collisions overnight and this morning, involving mainly drivers losing control and sliding into the ditch. No serious injuries have been reported.
Early Saturday morning, the eastbound lanes of Highway 1 just west of Brandon were closed due to an accident. They reopened shortly after 9 a.m.
Motorists are being reminded to adjust their driving habits for the conditions.
