A cache of University of Winnipeg items were sealed in a time capsule on Wednesday.

U of W president and vice-chancellor, Dr. Lloyd Axworthy, sealed letters from students, a copy of The Uniter newspaper, a Wesman T-shirt, and other items in the cornerstone of Wesley Hall.

Artifacts discovered in the 1894 time capsule — which are housed in the university’s Archives and Records Centre — include newspapers, coins, and documents related to the university.

The recent capsule will be opened in 100 years.
