After spending the last several weeks on the road, the University of Manitoba Bison men’s hockey team returns to home territory for a two-game series this weekend.
The Bisons (4-3-1) host the Lethbridge Pronghorns (0-7-1) in only their second home series of the 2012-13 season at Max Bell Arena.
“Like any team, it’s an advantage playing at home and we’ve played very well at home. When we did play here earlier in the year against Saskatchewan… and last year we had a great home record. It’s just being in a familiar environment,” head coach Mike Sirant said.
“With the (NHL) lockout, this provides an excellent opportunity for fans who are a little frustrated now to come out and see some great hockey.”
Manitoba goes into the weekend with a four-game streak, while Lethbridge has lost seven consecutive conference games.
Puck drop is at 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday.
