An initiative by the Winnipeg Police Association has raised thousands of dollars for 20 local schools.
The first Cool 2Be Kind campaign awarded in excess of $6,500 to fund 20 initiatives based on kindness movements submitted by each of the schools.
“This year’s first annual Cool 2Be Kind campaign exceeded our expectations and continues to grow daily. Our off duty officers have already visited over 26 schools, speaking to more than 3,000 kids and teachers about the importance of kindness and the role it can play in our daily lives,” said WPA president Mike Sutherland. “We leave behind our kindness cards so the kids keep this top of mind. We are very proud of the role we are playing to help end bullying.”
T-shirts will continue to be sold to raise funds for next year’s goal of $10,000.
