The captain of the Sisler High School varsity girl’s volleyball team has committed to the University of Winnipeg.
Aaliyah Masepela will join the Wesmen for the start of the 2013-14 Canada West season next September.
The 5’11” middle blocker is currently completing her Grade 12 at Sisler. Masepela is a three-time Manitoba Volleyball Association Provincial Championship medalist including gold in 2009-2010 and 2012 along with a bronze medal in 2010-2011. At the 2012 championships she was voted to the championship all-star team.
“We are extremely pleased and excited to have Aaliyah join our program,” said Wesmen head coach Diane Scott. “She is an outstanding young woman in her community and is a very gifted athlete and we believe has potential to become a very strong CIS female volleyball player.”
