A new jazz CD featuring the work of Steve Kirby and the Northern Prairie Jazz Collective will be released tonight.
The University of Manitoba’s Marcel A. Desautels Faculty of Music is presenting the launch of “Stepchild” at the Park Theatre.
The Northern Prairie Jazz Collective features current and recent members of the U of M music faculty, including bassist Steve Kirby, jazz vocalist Anna-Lisa Kirby, drummer Quincy Davis, guitarist Larry Roy, pianist Will Bonness, saxophonist Jimmy Greene, pianist George Colligan, and trumpeter Derrick Gardner.
Tickets are $30 at the door or $25 in advance at JazzWinnipeg.com, by calling (204) 989-4656 or in-person at the Park Theatre or Jazz Winnipeg office. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
