The Manitoba Bisons women’s hockey team is hosting their last weekend series of the year tonight and Saturday.

The Herd will welcome the UBC Thunderbirds — a team they haven’t lost to since the 2006-07 season. Manitoba (3-6-1) also hasn’t lost at home to UBC since the 2005-06 season and will look to continue their 13-game winning streak.

Bisons’ forwards Meagan Vestby and Maggie Litchfield-Medd lead the team and tied for 14th in conference scoring with eight points. Caitlin MacDonald and Kyleigh Palmer are tied for second in conference defenceman scoring with seven points.

UBC goes into the series with a 5-2-3 record.

Puck drop both nights is 7 p.m. at Max Bell Arena. On Saturday, minor hockey teams with players aged 17 and under who wear their jerseys will get into the game for free.

The Bisons’ next home series is January 4-5 vs. Saskatchewan.
