A handful of businesses and local entrepreneurs have been recognized by the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ with Achievement Awards.
“The BIZ Achievement Awards recognize the many downtown leaders and organizations that are helping Winnipeg’s urban canvas take shape,” said Stefano Grande, executive director of the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ. “These businesses and entrepreneurs are adding to a vibrant, active, and unique downtown — one that is a centerpiece, a place of conversation, an attraction, a magnet.”
2012 winners include:

- Downtown Economic Ambassador — Klaus Lahr, Winnipeg Convention Centre President & CEO
- Downtown Champions — Rick Bel and Ida Albo, Fort Garry Hotel
- Downtown Vibrancy — The Pyramid Cabaret
- Downtown Spirit — Grant Nazarko and Pat Britton, Canada Day Living Flag
- Downtown Living — Timbercreek Asset Management
