Alumni from the University of Manitoba were recognized as a top innovator at Innovate Manitoba’s inaugural Pitch Day recently.

Deka Treats, a healthy treats company created by former U of M students, introduced their flagship product, Fro-Yo JAM frozen yogurt dessert, at the November 28 event. The judges awarded them second place out of 27 entries.

The product was dreamed up by Faculty of Human Ecology graduates Ocean Nenadov, Garry Tang and Nutchaphol Chaivorapongsa.

The company plans to take Fro-Yo JAM to retail markets and into local food service.
