A man from the RM of St. Louise has been fined after several cows fell out of the transport truck he was driving.
RCMP say motorists called 911 Wednesday morning to report an injured cow on Road 75 W at Highway 1 about 14 kilometres east of Carberry.
The cow was one of several being transported from a farm near Pilot Mound to a livestock yard near Brandon. Police had to put the cow down when they arrived due to its injuries.
Another cow that had fallen out of the trailer in the same location was corralled and taken to a local livestock yard. Three additional cattle also fell out of the trailer and are still missing.
The driver, who was also the owner of the cattle, has been fined $295 under the Highway Traffic Act.
