The Forks has started the countdown to its Scotiabank New Year’s Eve celebrations on the 31st, releasing its plans to ring in 2013.

“It’s a full day of events, celebrating the year that was while looking forward to the year ahead,” said chief operating officer Paul Jordan. “Spend some time outside skating and tobogganing, come inside for some shopping at our locally owned stores, or check out our special New Year’s Eve events.”

Activities start at 5 p.m. for the kids, including crafts, wagon rides and live bands. A spectacular fireworks display will be put on by Archangel Fireworks beginning at 10 p.m.

The family-friendly event is expected to bring an estimated 30,000 people downtown.

A full listing of activities can be found on The Forks’ website.
