Shoal Lake All-Star Commits to Wesmen Volleyball

The University of Winnipeg Wesmen women’s volleyball team has announced the commitment of Natasha Rupa of Shoal Lake.

The 5’8″ setter will join the squad for the 2013-2014 Canada West Volleyball season next September.

Rupa was named a Manitoba Volleyball Association Graduating All-Star following her 2012 season as a member of the Shoal Lake Sharks.

“Natasha is every coach’s dream. She is a player that is willing to do anything to become a better athlete, team mate and person. Her above age maturity is what has led Natasha to develop such knowledge of the game and appreciation for hard work,”  Wesmen club coaches Lisa Nichol and Dean Oakden jointly said in a release.

An honour roll student, Ruba also received a Youth Volunteer Group Award and several awards in swimming.
