Ring in 2013 with a Safe Ride Home

December 30, 2012 8:50 AM | Entertainment

Whether you’ll be partying at Rock n’ Soul at the Winnipeg Convention Centre, or taking in an evening of fireworks at The Forks, it’s important to plan ahead on how to get home safely after ringing in the New Year.

Winnipeg Transit is once again offering free rides beginning at 7 p.m. until the end of service at approximately 1:38 a.m. More than 12,000 revellers took advantage of the free rides last year. Schedule and route information can be found on WinnipegTransit.com.

Operation Red Nose will also be working feverishly to accommodate rides on the 31st. A volunteer team will pick you up and drive you home in your own vehicle. Donations are encouraged when using the free service. Call (204) 947-NOSE (6673) for a ride.

For a rundown of what’s happening and where to ring in 2013, DowntownPeggy.com — a social media initiative from the Downtown Winnipeg BIZ — has compiled a list of events and parties happening in the city’s core.
