RCMP are investigating the homicide of a man in Thompson.
Police were called to a home in the Eastwood area of the city on Sunday at about 5:45 p.m. An unresponsive man was found injured inside and was transported to Thompson General Hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries.
Thompson RCMP, along with the RCMP “D” Division Serious Crime Unit, the RCMP Thompson Forensic Identification Section and the RCMP Thompson Major Crime Unit are currently investigating.
UPDATE: January 1, 2013 — Police arrested Shane Corson Braun, 25, of Thompson in connection with the death on December 30. On December 31, he was charged with second degree murder. He remains in custody and will make a court appearance in Thompson on January 3.
The deceased has been identified as Jarod Daniel Jensen, 27, of the RM of St. Andrews. The cause of death has yet to be determined following an autopsy.
The accused and the victim were known to each other.
