RCMP are on the hunt for two men after an armed robbery in Steinbach on Thursday afternoon.
Police say an armed man entered a business on 1st Street at about 4:20 p.m. wearing a balaclava and dressed in black. The suspect, said to be in his early 20s, pointed a long barrel gun at the business owner and made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.
He then jumped in a getaway vehicle with another man, also wearing a balaclava. No one was injured.
The suspect is described as a white male, about 5’10” tall with a slim build, carrying a black rifle or shotgun.
The single cab, red 1996 Chevrolet 1500 pickup truck is said to have circled the business prior to the robbery. RCMP say it may have been stolen from Morris, Manitoba earlier in the day, has a large amount of rust and doesn’t have a tailgate.
Anyone with information should call Steinbach RCMP at (204) 326-1234 or Crime Stoppers at 204-780 TIPS (8477).
