Man Charged in Homicide on Keeseekowenin First Nation

RCMP Crest LogoRCMP are investigating the death of a man on Keeseekowenin First Nation after being called to a residence on Saturday night.

Police found the deceased, who they have identified as 34-year-old Terrel Stewart Shorting, upon arriving on the scene. His death is being treated as a homicide.

Terris Ronald Mintuck, 50, of Keeseekowenin First Nation has been arrested and charged with second-degree murder. He will appear in Brandon Provincial Court on Monday.

An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for Monday in Winnipeg.

RCMP are continuing to investigate.

UPDATE: Wednesday, January 9 — The cause of death has been attributed to a single gunshot wound, RCMP say.
