A Winnipeg filmmaker will make his cinematic debut on Wednesday at The Park Theatre.
Ryan Souter is screening his latest film, “Swimming The Dream,” on January 9.
Manitoba stage actress Talia Pura plays a role, along with budding actors Toni Reimer, Karin Rensfelt, Pamela Iveta and Ali Tataryn. Souter, who wrote, directed and produced the film, also appears on screen.
“I couldn’t count the hours I’ve put into this film — definitely hundreds,” Souter said of the Winnipeg-made comedy flick. “From the very beginning of planning the script, writing the screenplay, preparing and planning the production, shooting the movie, and post-production and editing, it will be around a two-year project.”
The film follows a man and mother team with big dreams: To create the world’s first synchronized swimming live action play.
Tickets are $10 at the door. Showtime is 7:30 p.m.
Swimming The Dream runs 1 hour 53 minutes and is rated PG.
