A local talk radio station will give minor league hockey players the “big league” treatment on Saturday.
680 CJOB is presenting the second annual Rona Minor Hockey Road Show at the Southdale Community Centre. The road show will feature 10 novice and minor hockey teams out of 200 that applied online through the station’s website.
Each game will start with player introductions and the singing of ‘O Canada’ and include play-by-play commentary from 680 CJOB sports announcers.
“This full day of hockey at the grass roots level brings us all back to when we first developed a love of the game for all the right reasons. Can’t wait to announce that first he/she shoots, he/she scores,” said CJOB announcer Kelly Moore.
The first game starts at 9:45 a.m. and the last puck drops at 3:45 p.m. at Southdale Community Centre, 254 Lakewood Boulevard.
