The Winnipeg Blue Bombers re-signed import defensive back Jonathan Hefney on Friday.
The East Division all-star was to become a free agent next month.
“The way Jonathan plays the game, the type of enthusiasm and excitement he brings to the field, certainly rubs off on the rest of his teammates and his experience is one we value as an organization,” said Joe Mack, Blue Bombers vice-president and GM. “We look forward to having Jonathan continue his high level of play next season.”
Hefney has registered 241 tackles, 13 special teams tackles, two sacks, 13 interceptions and six fumble recoveries in his four seasons with the Blue Bombers.
