Winnipeg Transit is advising riders of service delays due to winter storm conditions.
Transit says riders should monitor local news reports for updates or visit WinnipegTransit.com for the latest information. Delays and cancellations can also be found by calling 311 or using TeleBUS, BUStxt, BUSguide and Navigo on your mobile phone.
The city is also taking the unusual step of closing the Brookside, St. Vital and Transcona Cemeteries due to heavy snow accumulation and windy conditions this weekend. The cemeteries will close at 4:30 p.m. today.
“Blizzard like conditions have been forecast for the city this weekend and we anticipate this may cause heavy drifting, resulting in very poor driving conditions on the cemeteries’ roadways,” said Jane Saxby, cemeteries administrator. “We apologize for the inconvenience but public safety is our primary concern.”
