Overnight Parking Ban Going into Effect

January 13, 2013 9:26 AM | News

Snow RouteIf you park on a snow route overnight, you’ll have to find somewhere else to leave your vehicle tonight.

Starting at midnight, the city’s overnight parking ban will go into effect on all streets designated as snow routes. The ban prohibits parking on any snow route until 7 a.m. Monday morning. Vehicles parked in violation will receive a $100 ticket ($50 if paid early), and may be towed. The ban will be in place until plowing is completed and the public will be notified it’s lifted.

Crews will haul snow starting in the downtown tonight and will expand to bridges, overpasses and underpasses to restore space for snow storage. Temporary no parking signs will be in place during that time in certain areas.

A residential parking ban will go into effect after plowing on main routes, bus routes and collector streets is completed. The city will advise of such a ban on Monday.
