The Canadian Automobile Association has launched a website to further educate the public on the benefits of owning an electric vehicle.

It was one year to the day that CAA Manitoba launched an education campaign surrounding the vehicles called Get Current.

The new website (CAA.ca/electricvehicles) shows the financial costs and environment benefits associated of operating an EV, along with a map of nationwide charging stations.

“Car manufacturers are introducing more and more electric vehicles into the Canadian market,” said Jeff Walker, CAA national vice president of public affairs. “Consumers are looking for a reliable and unbiased resource that gives them the information they need to decide if an EV is for them. CAA’s new online resource will help them to do that.”

According to CAA, the three main concerns the public have about electric vehicles are reliability, vehicle range and charging station availability, and cost.
