Twelve Winnipeg community centres will receive funding from the city to complete renovations.

A total of $386,000 will be spent to repair and upgrade the civic recreational facilities, which include everything from plumbing to flooring.

“Community centres are the hub in neighbourhoods across the city, and we want to help them thrive by providing the support they need to make upgrades such as replacing windows and installing security systems,” Mayor Sam Katz said on Friday during an announcement at Central Corydon Community Centre.

Facilities on the list to receive renovations include Bronx Park, Linden Woods, Riverview, Robert A. Steen Memorial, Vince Leah, Norberry-Glenlee, Grendell Park, Dakota, River Osborne, Central Corydon, and Gateway Community Centres, along with the Norquay Recreation Committee Inc.
