Hockey, Football Take Centre Stage at Film Festival

Canadian Sport Film FestivalWinnipeg will play host to the Canadian Sport Film Festival on February 8-9.

Five short films about hockey will screen at The Forks on Friday, February 8 beginning at 7 p.m. CSFF will move to the Park Theatre for its closing night screenings on Saturday, February 9 at 7 p.m. An inspiring group of cancer survivors come together to form a dragon boat racing team in the Manitoba premiere of “Awaken the Dragon.”

A 9:30 p.m. screening on Saturday will end with “Fordson: Faith, Fasting, Football,” a fast-paced and powerful documentary about a group of Arab-American high school students playing the all-American sport in a post 9/11 world.

A free screening and panel discussion on children, sport, and film will take place at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, February 8 on the University of Manitoba campus.
