RCMP are investigating the death of an elderly woman in Ethelbert, which they are treating as a homicide.
Police were called to a residence in the area on Saturday where the woman was located.
Few details have been released, including the woman’s identity.
Police are continuing to investigate with help from the RCMP “D” Division Serious Crime Unit, the RCMP Dauphin Forensic Identification Services and the RCMP Dauphin Major Crime Unit.
UPDATE: Monday, January 21 — While searching the property where the woman’s body was found, RCMP discovered the body of a man. His identity hasn’t been confirmed, but his death is being treated as suspicious. Autopsies on both deceased have been scheduled in Winnipeg.
UPDATE: Thursday, January 24 — The deaths are now being treated as homicides. The deceased have been identified as an 80-year-old woman and 50-year-old man. Their names aren’t being released. Anyone with information is asked to call Dauphin RCMP at (204) 622-5050.
