Classrooms to Get Visit from Jets Players

January 25, 2013 7:05 AM | Sports

Winnipeg Jets LogoWinnipeg Jets players will be in the classroom in February as part of I Love to Read Month.

Through the Reading Takes Flight program, players will visit different city schools to promote literacy and interact with students.

Players will read the official Winnipeg Jets children’s storybook “The Home Team” to classes of students from Grades 1 to 6. Classes can apply for the Jets’ visit based on a 500 words or less submission. Prizes and autographs will also be given out to the winning classes.

Submissions will be accepted until Wednesday, February 6 at WinnipegJets.com/readingtakesflight. The winning classrooms — as based on a random draw — will be contacted on February 11.
