A fire almost a year ago hasn’t slowed down business too much at a Manitoba fishing lodge.

The Bakers Narrows Lodge in Bakers Narrows burned to the ground on February 4, 2012. Despite the set back, the lodge still maintained operation of its 15 log cabins on-site, and another club house facility nearby.

The fire destroyed the commercial kitchen and laundry facility at the lodge, which left some amenities unavailable for guests.

Owner Brett Baynton has since rebuilt the kitchen, allowing catered weddings to be held at the lodge, along with a new laundry facility, washroom and shower house.

The Baynton family has owned and operated the Bakers Narrows Lodge — located on Highway 10 just south of Bakers Narrows — for the past 11 seasons.
