Body Found in Burning Cabin on Rocky Lake

RCMP Crest LogoA body has been found following a fire at a cabin on Rocky Lake.

RCMP were called to the residence in the RM of Kelsey at about 4:30 a.m. on Monday to find the structure fully engulfed.

Police have yet to identify the gender of the victim, pending the results of an autopsy.

The Manitoba Office of the Fire Commissioner is assisting with the investigation.

UPDATE: Thursday, February 7 — The deceased has been identified as a 52-year-old man of Rocky Lake. His name isn’t being released. RCMP say the fire isn’t considered suspicious.
