February 8, 2013 8:20 AM | Entertainment

Canadian Sport Film FestivalThe Canadian Sport Film Festival will get underway at The Forks tonight with a double feature on a “snowscreen.”

The free outdoor event will include five short films about hockey beginning at 7 p.m. in the canopy area.

“It doesn’t get more Canadiana than watching movies about hockey and warming huts outside on a snowscreen in February,” said Paul Jordan, chief operating officer of The Forks. “We’d love for people to skate down The River Trail, grab a hot chocolate and check out the movies. What a great Friday night out.”

A film showing the behind-the-scenes work that goes into creating the River Trail will screen at 8:15 p.m. titled “Fire & Ice.”

Additional screenings of the Canadian Sport Film Festival will be shown at The Park Theatre on Saturday, February 9.
