A member of the Winnipeg Police Service has been charged in a sexual assault case dating back seven years.
RCMP say the incident happened in the RM of Rockwood in 2006 when a 10-year-old boy was inappropriately touched sexually. The alleged assault was reported to police on August 28, 2012.
After an investigation, police arrested a 52-year-old man from the RM of Rockwood on December 6, 2012 and released him on a promise to appear.
Kenneth Jack Anderson was formally charged on Thursday with one count of sexual assault and one count of sexual interference.
Anderson will appear in Teulon court on February 11.
