Red Cross Throwing Block Party on Sunday

Canadian Red CrossThe Canadian Red Cross is inviting families to MTS Centre on Sunday for a huge block party.

From 1 to 3 p.m., a hockey game will be played between the Winnipeg Police Service and the Winnipeg Fire Department, with a Timbits hockey game during the intermission.

“We’re calling it the Power of Community Family Fun Day, and we’re hosting the event in an effort to strengthen our community and let families connect with each other, our local heroes like the police and firefighters, as well as the Red Cross,” said provincial director Shawn Feely.

Families will also be entertained by host Adam West of 103.1 Virgin Radio, music by The Bros. Landreth, a children’s activity centre, appearances by the Winnipeg Goldeyes, a 50/50 raffle, prizes and face painting.

Admission is free.
